What are book scams?
Scams: There are hundreds of websites worldwide that either sell written works or give the book away for free—except they don’t actually sell or give it away for free. These websites scrape Amazon and other retailers for inventory, then create a bogus website that appears to be hosting your work. When a person attempts to download your book, purchasers are asked to add credit card information, sign up for some free trial, or buy a magazine subscription. The theft of purchasers information is a scam. The buyer must be aware before purchasing. Maybe put a warning on your author website for buyers to avoid those websites. Don’t contact the scam webpages, you may get infected with a vicious virus for your trouble. Best to get over it and move on, annoying as it is.
